Music Class 2011
2011
This was one of my early Carnatic music classes I took with my first teacher, Geetha Murali at the age of 5. I am learning the fundamentals of the art form through musical notes.
Given my mother was a dance teacher I grew up around music, so I was able to pick it up naturally. I always used to enjoy learning both simple and complex songs from my teacher. Music gives me joy and a connection to my cultural heritage which I am fortunate to continue to pursue today. (The picture on the right is one among many performances at my mother's dance school's annual day events).

2015 Performance at Shri Lakshmi Temple
2015
This is one of my favorite group performances I performed at a local temple. My friends and I had worked hard over the summer, going every day up to 7 hours at a special music camp to learn new compositions. This is a segment showcasing one of the many songs that we had learned.
2015
The video clip is of my first concert which I publicly performed in at the age of 9 alongside my first vocal teacher. This was a very unique opportunity to share with my teacher a few years before she passed away due to cancer and is something I will always cherish.

Music First Concert 2015

2017 Vocal practice with orchestra Jul 04
2017
I was practicing with an entire music ensemble for a performance on stage. This was the first time I was performing on my own without my teacher! This signified the start of my solo performances.
2020
I created the Lunar Festival as a fundraising project during COVID. I have been very passionate about music from a young age and wanted to bring together other people who had similar interests as mine to showcase in my talent show. Featuring local artists young and old and across different genres of music we raised money for local businesses. Highlights of all performers are in this clip.

2021 Rehearsal for first concert Oct 03
2021
This was my very first solo concert that lasted around 45 min in total. This was my first big debut performance that showed all the training I had undergone. My teacher was giving me practice and reviewing all my songs to ensure I was ready for this big performance.

Playing the Tanpura, a stringed, melodic instrument which is a pitch keeper. The student usually plays for their teacher in concerts as I have shown in the video. It allows the student to pay close attention to the details of the art form and elevates the overall listening experience. I had the honor of doing this for my teacher and she directly taught me how to play this instrument, which strengthened our bond.

2022
This was just a quick practice song I was singing in front of my mic set to simulate real performance situations. I have also done this many times as a warm-up before my competitions which helped me place very well.

2022 - Arangetram
Similar to my dance debut performance, I had a music one as well. I performed a solo concert with a live musical ensemble to accompany me. This is the graduating performance that allows you to pursue your art at a higher level and signifies all the knowledge the teacher imparts to the student.
