2016 Orioles Vs Marlins Championship Game Final Inning
2016
I grew up in a sports family and played a lot of sports as a young child including softball, tennis, swimming, etc. I gravitated towards softball at a young age because it was the one sport my older brother (who is a natural athlete) couldn't overshadow me in! Over the years I worked hard and enjoyed the team bonding that came with playing the sport. I won the championship in the town league in the 4th grade. In the video clip, I am shown pitching the final inning to close out the game. It was a very high-pressure situation for a small child, but my focus and support from my teammates allowed me to perform at my best. I will forever cherish that game, the love my teammates showered me with and the lessons I learned from this experience.
2020
Winning the championship again in my HS Freshman year was a full circle moment for me. It was my last year playing as a senior in the town ball league, so the victory was the icing on the cake! In the video clip, I am also pitching the closing inning of the game. The growth between the first and last championship games showed all the effort and practice I had put in with my dad and my pitching coach Bob Mahoney. Softball will forever hold a special place in my heart as it was a constant during my entire childhood. The teamwork, the pressure situations, and having fun along the way are lessons I will continue to carry with me beyond the field. All of my coaches are big inspirations for me to keep in touch with.
